Preparing Soil for Building

Geiger Excavating is experienced at identifying a soil’s composition and recommending specific products to improve its quality so that construction may proceed. Depending on the soil or weather conditions, we may introduce lime, fly ash, or Portland cement. These elements are designed to enhance soils with excess moisture or to increase a soil’s load bearing capacity.

We use several pieces of equipment when performing soil stabilization. This includes lime spreaders to place the stabilizer(s) and large tillers mix the soil and stabilizers to depths of 14”-16”.
